Pietism is very often found strolling hand in glove with amillennialism and two kingdom theology. If one is agnostic whether the Lord will really transform the world over time, or if one truly believes there is some kind of earthly kingdom that prevails strongly through time until the Parousia, there doesn't seem to be a lot of value in creating or deploying robust philosophies to assist with the building project. "Be good, everybody" sounds sufficient for folks in that camp.
